Air Fryer Wontons

Air Fryer Wontons on plate

I could eat my weight in these Air Fryer Wontons! They are seriously just poppable goodness. I’m always looking for new ways to use my air fryer and this seemed fitting, given my love for Asian cuisine.

Each batch cooks in just 5 minutes and they aren’t deep fried with excess oil. Win, Win. They make a fun little appetizer or a great side dish to any Asian dish.

The filling comes together in just a few minutes, but the folding of the wontons is where the preparation time comes in. It does take some time to fold them and it takes some practice to get them to look they way you want them to.

I promise it is worth it! Heck, you can just leave them as triangles and they will still be delicious! Don’t let the folding stop you from enjoying these!

Ingredients for air fryer wontons:

  • 1 – 12 ounce package of wonton wrappers. (I use Nasoya Wonton Wraps)
  • 1 pound Ground Pork
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Grated Ginger
  • 2 Green Onions, diced
  • 2 teaspoon Minced Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 small bowl of water, for forming the wontons

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the pork, ginger, green onion, garlic, sesame oil and soy sauce. Mix well.
  2. Take one wonton wrapper and place 1 teaspoon of the meat mixture in the center. Dip your finger in the water and run it along the edges of the wrapper to slightly dampen it.
  3. Fold the wonton in half to make a triangle shape and press to seal. *At this point, you can certainly leave them as triangles or proceed to the next step*
  4. Gently push up on the center of the bottom edge of the triangle and bring the outer 2 corners together. Dab one corner with water to help them stick together.
  5. Repeat with the remaining wonton wrappers.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Once heated, spray the tray with oil.
  7. Working in batches, place as many wontons as will fit in a single layer and then spray the tops with oil
  8. Air fry for 5-6 minutes, until golden. Check them at 5 minutes to make sure they do not get too dark
  9. Serve Immediately

*I like to dip these in soy sauce mixed with a little bit of chili garlic sauce and splash of rice wine vinegar*
