Homemade Garlic Knots

Garlic knots on plate

These homemade garlic knots will be your new favorite addition to pasta or pizza night or as a fun appetizer, served with marinara sauce. Soft dough, Italian seasoning, mozzarella cheese, baked until golden and brushed with garlic butter. Perfect little knots of happiness. These would pair lovely with my classic lasagna roll ups or these garden vegetable lasagna roll ups.

They are made with my favorite pizza dough with a few extra additions and require zero rise time. Rolled into ropes and then tied into knots, they are a breeze to make and will quickly become a family favorite. The recipe makes 8, but I almost always double it and make 16 because garlic knots are life.

How to shape the garlic knots:

  1. After making the dough, shape dough into a circle and divide into 8 equal pieces.
  2. Roll each piece into about a 6-8 inch rope
  3. Tie the ropes into knots
  4. Place each knot on a baking sheet

Bake for 15-20 minutes until lightly golden.

While the knots are baking, melt the butter with the garlic. Remove the knots from the oven and brush with the melted butter.

Serve immediately topped with fresh parsley and shredded Parmesan, if desired.
