Next time Taco Tuesday rolls around (or any gathering), make this Easy Guacamole! It’s perfect as an appetizer with tortilla chips, cut up veggies or to top your Sheet Pan Chicken Fajitas with. It also pairs well with a margarita. Just sayin’.
In 10 minutes and with just 8 simple, fresh ingredients, you can make this perfect dip. It is a total crowd pleaser!
Guacamole Ingredients
- Avocado: Make sure they are ripe! They should give slightly when you push gently with your thumb.
- Red Onion: I’m using red, but yellow onion can be substituted.
- Jalapeño: I use 2 (ribbed and seeded) in mine, but you can add more or less depending on your spice preference.
- Tomato: I’ve found the Roma tomatoes work best. Seed the tomatoes so that your guac isn’t watery.
- Cilantro: Chop up the stems too, they are full of flavor!
- Lime Juice: Use fresh limes for the best flavor.
- Garlic Powder: Just a little bit to round out the flavors.
- Pepper/Salt: Fresh ground pepper for some extra seasoning and salt makes the flavors stand out
Directions to make Easy Guacamole
- To start, slice the avocados in half, remove the pits, scoop the flesh out and place in a medium sized bowl. Using a fork, mash the avocado, making sure to leave plenty of chunks. The chunks bring lots of texture to this dip.
- Finely dice the red onion and jalapeño(ribbed and seeded). Then dice the tomato and cilantro (include the stems, they are full of flavor).
- Next, add in the tomatoes, jalapeño, red onion, cilantro, lime juice and spices.
- Gently stir everything together. At this point you can taste and see if it needs any additional Salt, Pepper or Garlic Powder. Add as needed and serve immediately with tortilla chips, cut up veggies or pita chips.
