Caramel Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Loaf of banana bread with 3 slices to show inside of caramel chocolate chip banana bread

Banana bread is one of my favorite treats. While I love the classic, this Caramel Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is amped up. Its studded with chocolate chips and caramel bits. I found caramel bits made by Kraft at my local Wal-Mart in the baking aisle. No need to melt them down, just add them like you would chocolate chips!

Banana bread is one of those desserts that was always around (along with chocolate chip cookies) growing up. When we are all together in the summer time, my Grandmother still brings out a plate of banana bread for dessert. She keeps some in the freezer and it doesn’t take much time to thaw. Especially on hot days.

It reminds me of summertime, but really this is a dessert to be enjoyed year round. Who says it has to be a dessert, though? It makes a lovely breakfast as well….

So, if you have some ripe bananas sitting on your counter just waiting to be baked, grab some chocolate chips and caramel bits and give my Caramel Chocolate Chip Banana Bread a try!
