Ingredients for Easy Homemade Meatballs

  • Meat: a blend of Italian sausage and lean ground beef
  • Whole wheat Bread crumbs: Used to help the meatballs keep their shape.
  • Onion: finely dice it so you don’t end up with chunks of onion. You can even use a grater
  • Garlic
  • Worcestershire
  • Oregano
  • Fresh Parsley
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Grated Parmesan
  • Eggs: These help bind the meatballs together
  • Red Wine: Adds moisture and a great flavor. If you don’t want to use wine or don’t have any, sub in milk.

Equipment Needed:

  • Rimmed Sheet Pan
  • Large mixing bowl

Ways to serve

  • Serve over pasta with your favorite spaghetti sauce
  • Heat up with marinara sauce and serve in a hoagie bun with melted cheese (mozzarella or provolone) on top
  • Serve as an appetizer with a marinara dipping sauce

How to Freeze meatballs

Once the meatballs are baked, allow to cool. Transfer to a a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze. This will prevent them from sticking together in one large clump. After they are frozen, transfer to a freezer bag or container and store in the freezer until ready to use.
