Holiday Eggnog Cocktail

Holiday Eggnog Cocktail

Eggnog is my all time favorite drink of the season and this Holiday Eggnog Cocktail does not disappoint. I’m sure if you are an eggnog lover like me, you will drink this on repeat all season long! It is the perfect after dinner dessert cocktail.

Serve this cocktail at your next Holiday gathering. It requires very few ingredients, easily adjusted to serve multiple people and is sure to be a hit.

There are several different types of alcohol to use with eggnog, but I landed on this wonderful combination of Bourbon and Gingerbread Spiced Rum. Captain Morgan has a limited edition for the holidays and it works beautifully with eggnog.

This cocktail also has a cinnamon sugar rim. To make cinnamon sugar, mix together 1/4 cup of sugar with 1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon. Then place the mixture in a small, shallow dish that is slightly larger than the width of your glass. To get the sugar to stick, lightly wet the rim of the glass or you can even use a little bit of maple syrup.

Is eggnog served hot or cold?

Most often it is served cold and that is how this drink is designed. However, it can be served warm. For example, coffee shops serve hot eggnog lattes in the winter months.

To serve as a hot beverage, add the eggnog, bourbon and rum to a small saucepan. Then heat over low until warmed through. Serve in a mug instead of a cocktail glass.

Can Non-dairy EggNog be used?

Absolutely! I love using Califia Farms Holiday Nog. It has all the flavors of classic eggnog without eggs or dairy! This is a great way to make this drink vegan and even cut the calories for a lighter cocktail.
