Where can I buy Puff Pastry?
Puff Pastry can be found in the frozen section of your favorite grocery store. Usually located with frozen pie crust. There are several brands available for purchase, however I used Pepperidge Farms Puff Pastry Sheets for this recipe.
Ingredients for Parmesan Prosciutto Tarts:
- 1 Sheet frozen Puff Pastry (I used Pepperidge Farms)
- 3 oz Sliced Prosciutto (I used Boar’s Head) – each pack contains 6 slices
- 4 ounces Parmesan, shredded
- Chives, for garnish (optional)
Tips and substitutions:
- The puff pastry will need to be thawed either in your refrigerator overnight or on the counter for about 30 minutes.
- I used a pizza wheel to easily cut the dough. A pastry cutter or a knife will also work.
- I highly recommend shredding your own block of parmesan. It will melt easier than pre-shredded.
- Other cheeses that pair nicely with prosciutto for a substitution would be Mozzarella or Gruyère.
