Pumpkin Pecan Granola made with real pumpkin, maple syrup and warm spices for a fall twist on a classic recipe!

I love homemade granola so much more than store bought! Added bonus is that I get to control the ingredients. This easy homemade pumpkin pecan granola is simple with clean ingredients and rarely lasts more than a few days in my home.
It is perfect for fall mornings or even as an afternoon snack! Made with real pumpkin and warm spices like cinnamon, ginger and cloves.
Most store bought granola is loaded with sugar, but with this recipe you will feel good knowing that it is naturally sweetened with maple syrup and just a minimal amount.
If you’ve never made granola, you will be surprised at just how easy it is to make! All you need is a rimmed baking sheet, large mixing bowl and a pot to melt/warm the wet ingredients.
Pumpkin Pecan Granola Ingredients
Oats
Old fashioned rolled oats are the main ingredient for granola. If you need these to be gluten free, make sure to check your labels and get certified gluten free.
Seeds and Nuts
This particular variation has pecans, pumpkin, shredded coconut and hemp seeds. Feel free to use whole nuts or pieces. Other seeds such as sunflower or sesame can also be used.
If you need this to be nut free, simply replace the nuts with another seed type.
Oil
Using a little bit of refined coconut oil instead of butter allows for this recipe to be dairy free. I have used both refined and unrefined coconut oil without any change in the flavor of the granola
Sweetener
I use maple syrup to sweeten this granola, however honey can be used in its place.
Spices
This is a simple (but delicious) granola recipe and only uses a few spices to make this taste like fall which are cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt.
Optional Add Ins
Dried cranberries or chocolate chips would be a great addition. My preference is to add dried fruit after the granola is baked and cooled. Always add chocolate chips after baking or they will melt.

Storing Pumpkin Pecan Granola
Store your pumpkin pecan granola in an airtight container for up to 1 week. If your family is like mine, it won’t last that long!
